It's All About the Bacon
Wendy’s sent us a coupon to try their new Bacon & Blue burger, so off we went!
First up: If you don’t like bleu cheese, you probably won’t like this burger. Good news: If you like bleu cheese, you will probably LOVE this burger, because they really pile it on. And the bacon was nice and cripsy, almost perfect.
The cheese has a green hue, which we think means it’s of the Gorgonzola variety.
(Pictured above is our friend Red noming into his bacon & blue)
Also: Other restaurants, please send us coupons for free bacon, too!

Carl’s Jr sent us a coupon for their new Grilled Cheese Bacon Burger.
It was apparently first invented by Carl’s Jr as a vegetarian option for their menu, but some executive said, “Why not add a beef patty and bacon”? Brilliant.
Review:It was very good, but it was actually not the bacon that put it over the top; it was the cheese!  There is quite a bit of cheese on this beauty.  Total calories?  990.  Oh yeah, it was delicious.  The burger patty was a bit too well-done, but the bacon and cheese more than made up for it.  Will definitely buy again.
Not quite as pretty as the promotional photo above, but still tasty.
Carl’s Jr actually has quite a few bacon options on their menu, so they’d make a worthy destination the next time your bacon-cravings hit.

Review: Wendy’s Bacon Deluxe Cheeseburger with Applewood Smoked Bacon
We finally had a chance to try the Bacon Deluxe from Wendy’s.  It was really good!  We were actually really impressed with the the bacon… thick, but not so crispy to be hard & brittle.  It was very flavorful; our palette is not sensitive enough to discern Applewood-smoked bacon from any other kind of wood-smoked bacon — all we know was, it tasted good!  Definitely not the cheap fast-food bacon you’ve had elsewhere.
Check it: So, we got an email from Wendy’s, and they said we could hold a contest for our readers: The first 5 people to reblog this review to their own tumblr and then tweet a link to your post with RT@TheRealWendys on Twitter will win a free Wendy’s gift card to go try the Bacon Deluxe! (So, to win, you must have a both a tumblr and a Twitter account).
Let the games begin!  Enjoy your bacon!
[Disclosure: Wendy’s sent us a coupon for the Bacon Deluxe so we could review it; we received no other compensation for this review. Other bacon restaurants: please send us free stuff, too!]
(Wendy’s was kind enough to set up this contest, so we should give their other promotions a shout-out: "Follow @UrBaconMeCrazy on Twitter from 11/9 – 11/20 for a chance to win a $2,000 prize or one of two daily gift card give-a-ways")
